Tokyo is a beautiful city at night. Street lights and neon lights from stores light up the night. We stayed at the Mitsui Ginza Garden Hotel in Ginza, which is a brief 5-10 minute walk from the Shimbashi Station. Every night after dinner we would stroll through the quiet streets and welcome the light evening breeze. Tokyo is also a very safe city at night for most districts. I remember living here when I was 17 and roaming around by myself at night and not feeling threatened at all.

A visit to Tokyo, Japan simply would not be complete without visiting the famed Shibuya crossing. When I was 17 I lived in Japan for three months to go to language school and dance. I came to Shibuya almost everyday and am still very familiar with the JR exits and the 109 Department Store. It is always super busy and packed with business men, high schoolers and tourists hurrying to get somewhere.

Asakusa is one of the top must-visit spots when visiting Tokyo, Japan.But before we delve into the top 5 things to do in Asakusa, I’d like to talk a little about my outfit.

May 2017 Update: This dress is currently on display at the Cool Japan Exhibition in Leiden, Netherlands, as the current exhibition of Museum Volkenkunde. I was contacted by a museum curating representative in late 2016 and asked if I would be willing to lend the dress for their exhibition.
