Sandra Mansour is a brand I have been crushing hard on for a while. Born and raised in Switzerland, Sandra Mansour (who is of Lebanese descent) started her brand in 2010 in Beirut, Lebanon. I found her line on Moda Operandi and was smitten with her fabulously rich prints, jacquards and modern silhouettes. Her designs often feature multiple components and interesting textures/textiles that go seamlessly together. It reminds me of a more whimsical or fantasy-like vibe which I love.

The Fall 2016 runway has seen many olive green and khaki pieces by brands such as Valentino, Dior, Nina Ricci and Vera Wang. The olive green and khaki color trend is not just limited to the safari style but is also featured in feminine and girly looks. Valentino chooses to embellish the color with beading while Nina Ricci incorporates the olive green color in lacy dresses and shimmery skirts. 

Olive green is a very easy color to incorporate into your fall palette.

Voluminous sleeves are everywhere. Many brands are now showcasing puff sleeves, bouffant sleeves, bishop sleeves, trumpet sleeves, bishop sleeves – whatever kind of voluminous sleeves, it’s on the runway.Here are some examples from the 2016 Spring/Summer collections by a few of my favorite brands:

Johanna Ortiz is a brand I discovered a few months back. I absolutely love how she does the voluminous sleeves yet manages to keep it super feminine while showcasing her Colombian heritage.

“A fire escape is a special kind of emergency exit… [that] provides a method of escape in the event of a fire or other emergency that makes the stairwells inside a building inaccessible. ” (Source)

 I like to think of this fire escape as more of an escape from the busy and bustling streets of New York City right underneath me. Being on this fire escape makes me feel like I’m walking in mid air.
