This season was my second season at New York Fashion Week. I attended more shows and presentations than last season and am excited about what I’m seeing! There were so many feminine designs, bright reds and beautiful pastels. Let’s take a look at what went on this season in my Fall Winter 2018 NYFW recap!
Fall Winter 2018 NYFW Recap
Pamella Roland Fashion Show
First show of this season was Pamella Roland. This season Pamella Roland showed a gorgeous collection of feminine gowns and powerful suits full of shiny embellishments and feathers. I loved all the beautiful jewel tones and ombres.
Jacket from ASOS | Sunglasses by QUAY | Sweater from H&M | Leather Skirt by Helmut Lang | Bag from Love me Hug me | Boots by Louis Vuitton
BCBG Maxazria Presentation
This season at BCBG we are seeing some gorgeous red dresses – continuing the bright red trend. They, of course, came out with many prom-appropriate lace dresses that are their signature. Also I particularly loved their workwear-inspired section with several deconstructed pieces and prints like checked and stripes.
Coat by Keepsake | Cascading Sleeves Top from Storets | Stripe Pants by Nicholas | Mules by Philip Lim | Metallic Bag by X Nihilo
Kate Spade Presentation
This season Kate Spade is bringing back country chic. The venue was a gorgeous space with live piano performance, an open bar and barn-inspired decor. The country theme was in full swing with adorned cowboy boots and suede fringes on handbags.
Milly Presentation
This season the Milly presentation was all about colors – VERY bright colors! I’ve always loved Milly’s beautiful dresses and was in love with this season’s daring use of colors and sparkly materials.
Leather hat by Hat Attack | Ball Drop Earrings by J.W. Anderson | Pink Puffer Jacket by BACON | Leather Pants by the Kooples | Metallic Bag by X Nihilo | Metallic Combat Boots by Balmain
Paul Andrew Presentation
I am a die-hard shoe lover so of course I couldn’t miss Paul Andrew’s presentation. It looks like the red boots and vinyl trend are here to stay, because there were several pieces on display that were either red or vinyl! Paul Andrew’s collection was the perfect mix of feminine and cool, with its pointy toes, edgy prints and combinations of black, true red and pastel pink.
Alice McCall Show
Being an Aussie, I love seeing Australian designers presenting their new collections at international fashion weeks. Alice McCall is one of my favorite brands to buy. I love all their feminine but sexy dresses, rompers and jumpsuits! This season they featured their signature rompers and floral laces but added trending elements like fringes and metallic materials. At the show I bumped into my Asian blogger girlfriends Rachel and Zhu Zhu. Last fashion week was the first time I met them, and it was so lovely seeing them again!
Badgley Mischka Show
Last but absolutely not least, this season I was able to attend the Badgley Mischka show dressed in Badgley Mischka! I had visited their showroom a few days prior the show and picked out a beautiful black dress that had these gorgeous origami-like sleeves. The sleeves were such a gorgeous statement and the dress was the perfect fit! The show itself was stunning. There were many voluminous gowns that were super dreamy, as well as beautifully embroidered jumpsuits that are both chic and romantic.
Did you see my NYFW Recap from last season? Make sure to stay tuned for my upcoming LFW and MFW recaps!
I’m so excited to see the red colour trend still going strong! It’s such a statement colour, and makes every outfit look more elevated and special! Love all of your outfits by the way, my favourite was definitely the one you wore for the BCBG presentation!
