Fall Winter 2018 MFW Recap | Of Leather and Lace

My last two fashion week shows ended in Milan, which were a dream come true. I love Italy so much for its opulence and have always admired brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, and Miu Miu. To be able to attend anything in Milan makes me feel like the bigger shows are closer within reach. But enough dreaming for now, let’s get right into my fall winter 2018 MFW recap!

You guys know that I’m so obsessed with the Duomo in Milan. Every time I come here, staying nearby is a must, so I booked the same apartment I did last summer which has the most gorgeous view of the cathedral.

I know that the show-goers don’t play when it comes to street style so I needed to fit in. I decided to wear this kimono dress (similar here) from an Italian brand I love, Attico, which was founded by two of Italy’s biggest street style stars, Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini.

I decided to wear this jacquard printed coat with blue fur because I knew the combination with the dress would stand out. I paired this outfit with a gorgeous bracelet bag from Parisa Wang. And then I had no choice but to wear my favorite over-the-knee boots by Stella Luna because Milan was too cold. Overall, I really liked how it turned out and thought it was very suitable for the shows.

Genny

Although I don’t know what he said, I loved the mysterious vibe of it. Once the lights went out and then came back on, the room was so dramatic and flooded with intense white, red, and purple lighting.

The collection itself was sparkly and grand. Notable highlights were the sheer polka dot prints, ruffles, metallic fringe, and strong tuxedo pieces. It had everything from elegant dresses to edgy outfit combinations. I loved how upbeat and versatile this show was.

Then to end fashion month, I saw Anteprima. I would best describe this show as modern romance. The elegant layers and softly tailored pieces were so beautiful to look at. I can’t seem to forget how the meticulous use of fabrics created this luxury and feminine vibe so well. The overall style was grown up and elegant and was complemented so perfectly by the moody, modern set up of the environment.

That’s it for MFW. I hope to attend next season and share more!
