Tina Travels: What Happens in Vegas Stays on This Blog

We’ve all heard of “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”. But for me, what happens in Vegas stays on this blog! Of course.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Vegas for three days. It was a super chill trip with 3 other couples (two of which even brought their babies!). I never thought a trip to Vegas would end up like this. We rented a big AirBnB townhouse about 15 minutes away from the Strip and spent most of our meals cooking at home. We did about 10 minutes of gambling (we did a “black on black” where we all put a black chip on the black of a Roulette table and immediately lost). I spent some time familiarizing myself with the ways of babies and am left still very baffled. I cannot imagine the trouble parents are going through with young kids.

There were no late nights, not much gambling, no show attending and no partying. Yet it was fun. The thing that makes Vegas fun for me is not the partying, the gambling, or the drinking, but the company.

I managed to set up a quick meeting with a local photographer John. We sat down at the Chandelier Bar inside Cosmopolitan, grabbed a drink and chatted a little. We talked a little about social media, and how to find photographers/models in your area (which I explain in detail here).

I’ve been to Vegas more than 5 times now, but I’ve never grown fond of the lavishly decorated hotels or the superficialness of this man-made sin city. I look at the soulless eyes of the people sitting at slot machines and the haughtiness of the beautiful but scantily dressed women accompanying their much older counterpart. Does this fun but artificial city really bring any true happiness to these people, I wonder?

I don’t really know. And who am I to judge?

p.s. As you can see, I’m pretty scantily dressed myself. I don’t do this because I’m in Vegas. I just dress like this whenever and wherever I want. So… cheers! ; )
