How to Wear the Logo Trend | OF Leather and Lace | Fashion Blog by Tina Lee | flatiron, louis vuitton logo boots, gucci logo cap

I confess that I am a little bit of a brand loyalist even though I do try to embrace new labels and support upcoming designers. There’s just something so unique about a designer item that speaks volumes with its affixed label. For the last year, logos have been one of the ways designers make a fashion statement. So let’s talk about how to wear the logo trend, also known as logomania.

How to Wear the Logo Trend

I can understand why logo pieces have been chastised all these years. They can be viewed as flashy, pompous, and superficial. However, since brand logos from high street to luxury are back and fresher than ever, it’s easier for anyone to jump on this trend and make the most of it. From my perspective, logomania has always been about supporting my favorite brands who have a long history of dedicated craftsmanship. That should come as no surprise since my background is in design! When I see a logo on a cool t-shirt or a fun accessory, it stimulates me to pull the item and style it in a lighthearted and cheeky way. Below are some of the ways I’m embracing logos this season.

Logo accessories

If you’re unsure of how to wear the logo trend, accessories are one of the easiest places to start. Accessories are great because they’re understated yet catchy and look great with a variety of different outfits. For example, you can try a baseball cap with a brand’s logo imprinted all over it. When I first saw this Gucci hat, I couldn’t decide between black or tan. However, I wanted to stay true to Gucci’s traditional logo and decided on the one I’m wearing here. An accessory like this looks great with denim but is also perfect for sportier looks. You can add yoga pants or gym shorts and you’ll still look chic. Another accessory would be the hyped Gucci belt that’s a top pick among bloggers because it looks great with everything! From dresses and denim to coats and blazers, the Gucci belt has proven itself to be versatile.

Embrace a logo top

Logo tops are easy to style since you can think of it as your regular t-shirt. Since the 90s trends have held its ground these last few years, take a cue from the past and pair a logo t-shirt with denim pieces. It can look dressy with the right accessories but my favorite way is to wear it dressed down. I am super fond of all the easy, casual vibes when you pair a logo top with boyfriend jeans or a denim mini skirt!

Go for logo jewelry

If you’re not into logomania in a loud way, try a logo jewelry piece. For years, I have loved Chanel logo earrings, pearl necklaces with the double C, and brooches. You’ll feel less guilty about flashing a piece of jewelry. However, if you’re really into logomania, add logo jewels to a branded top. There’s no such thing as too much in 2018 hence the belt, t-shirt, and hat in this outfit.

Grab a logo bag

Lastly, a logo bag is probably a girl’s best option. Bags retain their value and can become a collector’s items seasons later. You can find plenty of graphic shoulder bags that are wearable, timeless, and trendy. Be sure to check out the popular options from Prada, Fendi, and Dior.

  1. Tina, I’ve been following you for a good few months after having discovered on Instagram. Your pictures are a delight and you showcase a lot of really great destinations really well!

I’m a brand loyalist as well but I’ve never been one to buy into logos too much. The area where I live is predominately Asian and I see more people buying LV and Gucci. Also Instagram is flooded with the Gucci belts!!! As much as I’d love to accessorize, I don’t it’s “my style”. Of course if I would still go for the brand bags that stands out without a large logo typed on the front, like the Prada Cahier and the Burberry banner bag.

    1. Hi Love! It’s great to hear from you!
I think definitely trends are different according to where you are.
There are many alternatives to what you mostly see online and they would be great ways to experiment with this logo trend 🙂
Would love to see what you end up choosing and how you style it!

      xoxo Tina
