Tina Travels: Riad Palais Sebban (Review) - An Oasis next to Jemaa el-Fna | Of Leather and Lace

What is the best way to experience Morocco and its local culture? Stay at a riad (traditional Moroccan home) like Palais Sebban! This riad is not just beautiful, but also affordable!

RIAD PALAIS SEBBAN

An Oasis Next to Jemaa el-Fna

THE LOCATION

I call Palais Sebban an oasis because entering this riad really is like escaping into a different world, away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby markets. Palais Sebban is located close to Jemaa el-Fna, the famous square where you can find street food, juice, snake charmers and much more. But the inside of this hotel is nothing like what you see out on the streets.

THE SPACE

As you enter the riad, there is a main sitting area (pictured below) as well as a dining area where the gorgeous pool is also located (also pictured further below). In addition, they have a large rooftop where you can lounge in chairs or day beds. My room was fairly large and very comfortable and came equipped with all the necessities I needed.

Gorgeously tiled lounging area? Check. Beautiful pool? Intricate Decor? Check. Comfortable rooftop? Check. Spacious Rooms? Check.

THE PRICE

When I first saw Palais Sebban on Booking.com I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. From the photos alone, the riad looked stunning. In person, it certainly didn’t disappoint either! But a room here starts at just $115! We also dined here in the beautiful courtyard next to the pool. We happened to have visited during Ramadan so there was no dinner service until 8. But after 8 the staff promptly brought us our dinner which was very reasonably priced and delicious!

OVERALL

Overall I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a more authentic experience with casual service and beautiful space. This is great value for what it is and its super convenient location! It isn’t quite the luxury and service you’ll experience at La Sultana or La Mamounia, sure, but it’s just as beautiful in its own way.

WHAT I WORE

Following my tradition of wearing outfits that match my surroundings, this navy jumpsuit paired with a pair of red tassel earrings from The Shopping Bag were perfect for Palais Sebban. When I last visited Marrakech and went to Ben Youssef, I also wore a matching romper from The Shopping Bag.

At the pool, I decided to wear this olive one piece from Thistle and Spire. I ADORE the design of this piece with hardware, criss crosses and straps. I also wear one of their one piece black swimsuits in my recent post at La Sultana’s stunning outdoor pool.
