The Best Spots to Take Photos with the Eiffel Tower | Of Leather and Lace | A Fashion Blog by Tina Lee

When visiting Paris, a photo with the Eiffel Tower is a must. There are many spots from which you can take photos of the tower, with Trocadero being the most famous location. Here are my recommendations for the best spots to take photos with the Eiffel Tower from Trocadero.

THE BEST TIME

The best time to photograph ANY popular destination is no doubt EARLY in the morning. As soon as the sun is up high enough for some soft morning light, you need to be there! We managed to get to Trocadero at 8am, even though we originally wanted to see the sunrise (around 7am).

To get to Trocadero, take the Metro via line 6 or 9 and stop at Trocadero metro station. Once you exit the subway station you will find a wide platform from which most people take their photos.

Are you looking for a photographer to help take your engagement photos? Or you just want to record your solo travels and capture the beautiful moments spent in Paris? My friend Max (@bisousparis) is a wedding/lifestyle photographer based in Paris. We’ve worked together shooting around Paris (photos coming soon!) and he’s been professional and fun to work with! Next to the fountain of Jardins du Trocadéro

This is a great spot where you can get a front-on photo with the Eiffel Tower. It may be tricky to fit the entire tower in so this is a spot best for that “vibes” shot. With the sun rising from the east, remember to face to your right so that some light will fall on your face. Alternatively, just take a photo of your back. Then you don’t have to be so concerned about whether your face is well-lit or not.

At the bottom of the stairs in front of Jardins du Trocadero

This was probably my favorite spot to take photos with the full tower. You can get a full body shot of yourself with the full tower, unobstructed! You just need to angle and place yourself correctly to block out the “bull” sculpture in the background. (You’ll know what I mean)

Halfway on the stairs

If you really weren’t able to get up early to get that shot with nobody in the background, try this spot – halfway on the stairs coming down from the platform. You don’t necessary have to wake up at 7am to get a clean shot from the stairs. Just wait patiently for the moment when nobody is walking in front of your shot. (You might have to wait a while during peak visiting hours though) The Best Time and Spot to Take Photos with Eiffel Tower | Of Leather and Lace | A Fashion Blog by Tina Lee

  1. HI Tina!

Where is exactly are the stairs located? The picture when you’re infront of the Eiffel Tower going down the steps?
Me and my boyfriend will be going there in a couple months, and would love to take a picture at that same spot!!

    Greatly appreciated!

    1. Hi Anna!
They’re right by the Trocadero platform. If you get off at Trocadero Metro stop and go towards the platform, you’ll see the stairs that go downwards and lead towards the Eiffel Tower. Hope that helps! 🙂
