Tina Travels: Best Rooftops With a View in Marrakesh, Morocco | Of Leather and LaceI am always on a mission to find amazing views when I travel. So when I went to Morocco I had to find the best rooftops with a view in Marrakesh. Marrakesh does not have many tall buildings and their traditional houses (riads) typically have a rooftop from which you can get a clear view of the city. Today’s list comprises of places that offer a clear and unobstructed view of the old town, often right in the heart of the medina.

BEST ROOFTOPS WITH A VIEW IN MARRAKESH, MOROCCO

NOMAD

NOMAD is a popular and famous spot for many tourists, but don’t be put off by that. Go when it just opens (around noon) and get a good spot on the rooftop. The panoramic views are amazing and you can see the markets bustling right beneath you. Their food is not the cheapest but is pretty amazing.

ATAY CAFE

We stumbled across Atay Cafe after wandering around Ben Youssef Madrasa looking for food. We were pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant which turned out to have the most amazing rooftop with gorgeous views and delicious food (get the skewers and fresh OJ!!). We got there before noon and there was no one on the rooftop. If you’re visiting Ben Youssef (which I wrote a post about – Tina Travels: Visiting Ben Youssef Madrasa) then definitely check out this great restaurant/cafe.

MAISON MK

Maison MK is a hotel situated in the heart of the medina that has a fine dining restaraunt called gastro MK. They also have a great rooftop called bar MK. We were invited to the rooftop for a drink before our 5 course meal. Sit on the higher level of the rooftop to enjoy a sweeping view of Marrakesh, or lounge on the canopy beds just below.

TERRASSE DES EPICES

This is another gorgeous restaurant situated in the heart of the medina. The vibe seems to be more trendy than cozy but the food and view seems just as amazing. I wasn’t able to visit this time around, but would be sure to check it out next time. Just look at these photos!

ZWIN ZWIN CAFE

Here’s another cute cafe/restaurant that’s likely similar to Atay Cafe which I highly recommended. White walls, pink pillows and great views that would make for Instagram worthy photos? Yes please!

BONUS SUGGESTION: LES JARDINS DE LA MEDINA

We stayed at Les Jardins de la Medina, a high end riad, for 3 nights and they had an amazing rooftop with many lounge chairs and beds. The hotel is situated in the heart of the medina and felt like an oasis the moment we walked in. If you love gorgeous rooftops, I definitely recommend staying at Les Jardins de la Medina.
