Palais Garnier - The One Place You Shouldn’t Miss In Paris | Ofleatherandlace.com

I’ve visited Paris many times before but have never been to the Palais Garnier. After this trip, I’ve concluded that if you’re planning a Paris trip, it’s one place you definitely shouldn’t miss out on.

PALAIS GARNIER

The One Place You Shouldn’t Miss In Paris

When you think of Paris, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Pyramid are typical landmarks that come to mind. However, if you’re looking to experience something out of the norm, I highly recommend the Palais Garnier, an opera house full of history and extravagance. The opera house alone took nearly 15 years to build which doesn’t surprise me at all when considering the meticulous designs and eclectic details that surface at every turn. From the multi-colored marble to the sumptuous chandeliers, gilded statues, and grand staircases, it’s no doubt an architectural masterpiece that I can’t even begin to describe in words. You can just feel the elaborate luxury Charles Garnier (the architect) strived to achieve as soon as you step in. That also explains why I’m quite dressy – because I wanted to fit right in!

If you’re a fan of operas, then visiting the Palais Garnier is a no brainer. You probably already know that it’s most known for the inspiration behind The Phantom of The Opera, a beautiful story of romance and mystery – and one that I personally love. Though I haven’t attended a show myself, I can only imagine that it’d be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see a ballet or opera here. But even if you’re not an opera fan, I think you’d still enjoy delighting in this beauty.

With its opulent details and rich history, I can contend that the Palais Garnier is a true work of art that will transport you to a different time and season. You will leave feeling inspired, motivated, and refreshed – something we can all use a little more of.
