Today I am super excited to share a part of my shoe collection with you. A little while ago, when I had just started my blog, I was approached by my talented still life photographer friend Weichia Huang. We decided to collaborate together and produce a series of 5 photos featuring 5 different heels. After some communication, we decided to use red as the common color and theme to tie the photos together.

Most of my friends know I’m a total shoe addict. My criteria for picking out shoes varied over the years but my love for heels has never changed. The correct heel height can compliment your outfit in just the right ways. My general rule of thumb is to buy heels that are feminine and help elongate your legs. If it is not classic, then it must be unique. If it is classic I ask myself: how often would I wear it and how many ways could I pair it? If it is unique I ask myself: would a shoe museum want to collect this shoe 50, 100 or even 200 years later? I think these are good questions to ask yourself before investing hundreds of dollars in your next shoe purchase.

I have so many other wonderful shoes in my collection and I hope to share them with you all very soon as well! 🙂

UNITED NUDE

This is such a unique shoe that I think it deserves some extra mention. This is a United Nude Web Hi Heel in black. I got it on sale in London in 2011 or 2012 when I was living in Paris and it was easy to make a weekend trip to London. It is made of a metal cut out heel and leather cut out body. I have never worn this out before because it has a very steep arch but it is so gorgeous I put it on display in my home. I just love shoes that have unique heels.of leather and lace blog shoe collection
