It’s no secret that I’m hugely inspired by the luxury lifestyle. And it’s pieces like luxurious dressing gowns that really move me, so I wanted to share more about it.
LUXURIOUS DRESSING GOWNS FIT FOR A BURLESQUE STAR
In case you can’t tell, there’s a huge burlesque influence on this sumptuous robe, which makes complete sense as it was handcrafted by Catherine D’Lish, a award-winning burlesque dancer. Catherine is known for her meticulous attention to detail in designing and producing these luxurious dressing gowns – and even I could feel the craftsmanship and time spent constructing such a masterpiece as I lounged in it back in Paris. Anyone who has seen a burlesque show knows it’s capable of transporting one back to classier times with the old jazz songs and glamorous pinup mood. Who knew the art of strip tease could be so sexy without being self-incriminating? I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of luxury living that existed when these shows first debuted back in the days – and this gown gave me the slightest glimpse of just that.
The long, drapey nature of the robe with its fur accents and satin sash felt as fabulous yet sensual as is sane. I paired it with my favorite Thistle & Spire bodysuit – and together, they were like a match made in heaven. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to shoot this extravagant look than in Paris. If you have an appreciation for luxury living like me, then I think you’d enjoy such luxurious dressing gowns. I love how this one coordinated lavishly with lingerie and loungewear pieces I already owned. And when mashed up, I was able to create a flattering and fantastical outcome.
