Silk robes are the trend of Spring 2017. They’re comfy, versatile and feel luxurious. I personally love how the fabric flows and the hand feel. So let’s talk about how to style a silk robe now that it’s officially spring!

HOW TO STYLE A SILK ROBE

OVER SHORTS/SKIRT

My silk robe is from Zara(Similar here and here). I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous floral print and the piping details that are so often seen on high end lounge wear. The large side pockets are super functional and makes for a cozy home for your hands when you don’t know where to put them. Because the length of this robe goes past my knees, I chose to contrast it with a pair or skorts also from Zara to create that hi-low look I personally love.

I am obsessed with this Addicted Cross Body bag by Parisa NYC. It is part of a very chic collection which captures 5 stages of a relationship, from Hooked to Freed. You can wear it on your wrists or use the longer straps to rest it over your body.

OVER JEANS

Another great way to style a silk robe is to wear it over jeans. I love these looks styled on the streets with cropped jeans. If you want to elongate your body then pair it with open toe heels. If you want to go casual, a pair of mules or ballet flats would offer you instant comfort without losing the chicness.

OVER A MAXI SKIRT

Styling your silk robe over a maxi skirt could be a very romantic look if the proportions and colors are right. For this combination to work, I would recommend choosing a silk robe that goes past your knees and has side slits of some sort. Otherwise you may look like you’re drowning in a bunch of fabric! To accentuate your figure, tie the sash around your waist, or cinch your waist with a delicate belt.

OVER A SLIP

This is probably the easiest solution to styling a silk robe/robe coat. It works in so many different ways – belt, no belt, heels or flats. Just throw on the dress and your silk robe, slip into a pair of shoes that fit your occasion, and you’re good to go!
