How To Rock A Red Suit For Women | Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, Japan | Of Leather and LaceThanks to Coco Chanel, the pantsuit has become a super cool ensemble many women love to wear. It has long symbolized the empowerment of women by adopting traditional men clothing. Here are my tips on how to rock a red suit for women.

HOW TO ROCK A RED SUIT FOR WOMEN

At The Shibuya Crossing In Tokyo, Japan

1. SIMPLE BUT CHIC

One of the best ways to style anything is still to do it the simple way. Pair your red suit with a pair of classic black pumps (red soles are a plus!) and a simple clutch or shoulder bag. I prefer a more street look so I chose hoop earrings and a pair of aviator sunglasses. The key to nailing this simple yet chic look is to find a red suit that fits you well. My blazer and cropped pants are from Genuine people. The cost is affordable but it still fits very well.

You will surely stand out in this red suit even amongst a big crowd!

These photos were taken at the Shibuya crossing – known as one of the busiest crossings in the world – in Tokyo, Japan. When we were shooting this outfit, we had to calculate the timing exactly so that I’d run out right before the pedestrian lights turned green (#bloggerstruggles). Sometimes my shoe would fall off because I was in such a rush! And it was July so it was SUPER hot. I was literally melting in this red suit – can you tell?

The last photo was shot from the second floor of the Starbucks at Shibuya. It was interesting trying to communicate with my photographer with sign language from the crossing!

2. GO CASUAL

One of the ways fashion people love to style a suit is to go casual. Often you will see fashion editors in a suit but they are wearing a t-shirt underneath or they paired it with some cool sneakers. I love this juxtaposition of formal and casual and would love to try it one day! It is super chic and has an air of nonchalance to it.

3. BE SEXY

If  you’re going to wear a suit, you might as well rock it! So why not wear a low cut suit and show some cleavage? You may want to use some fashion tape to tape the jacket opening to your skin so it doesn’t gape open and reveal your titties! Or, wear a bralette, bra or singlet underneath! The peekaboo of lace or mesh is super sexy.

4. BE BOLD

Just because you’re already wearing red, doesn’t mean you can’t wear other bright colors. One of the colors that are super strong but go surprising well with red is pink. (Check out my post on how to style red and pink outfits)

5. CORPORATE READY

If you want to bring the red suit into the work place, try wearing a white shirt underneath it. This makes the all-red look much more approachable. And don’t limit yourself to a cotton shirt. A chiffon or silk white shirt would also look amazing and work-appropriate!

6. GO MONOCHROMATIC

Monochromatic means of one color. Red is a strong color, so make a statement by wearing all red! This may be a bit much for daily life, but if you’re wearing this for fashion week, you’ll surely get photographed a ton!
