It’s no secret that I love all things romantic, feminine, flirty, and often times sexy. Those are probably a few words you’re most used to seeing on my blog. Although it gets much harder to measure up to those superlatives these days, it’s not impossible. Here’s how to dress feminine in the winter.
HOW TO DRESS FEMININE IN THE WINTER
There are so many reasons to love ladylike style. For me, some of those reasons are because it’s intrinsically flattering when you’re a woman, it has a way of making you look as intelligent as you are, and it’s an instant mood booster. Feminine style can be characterized by lace, ruffles, airy pastel color palettes, florals, and all that beautiful stuff. It’s a style that’s seasonless and endlessly wearable. I always find it so easy to put together feminine outfits in the summer but winter is a different story. It gets tricky because bundled layers don’t look so delicate.

Fitted pieces look best
Feminine style is all about the fit. You want to accentuate the form of your body – like your waist, decolletage, shoulders, or legs. I personally love looks that are nipped at the waist. To achieve this, you can try tucking a blouse into high-waisted shorts or a skirt. This will help define your waistline and visually create that feminine form. You can also try a cropped sweater, fitted turtleneck, or midi skirt as these are all pieces that will help you nail that desirable figure.
Wear PINK!
The easiest way to dress feminine in the winter is to stay away from your typical dark colors like navy, black, and charcoal. As you can see here, I stuck to light gray, pink, and purple. The floral shorts also beckon a feminine aesthetic. I added a pink beret to and purple over the knee boots to create a strong yet still dainty flair in my outfit. Without the gray and pink, this look would transform into something completely different. So, the lesson here is to pick your colors carefully. Pastels never fail!
It’s all in the details
As I mentioned earlier, you should look for details like lace, ruffles, sheer fabrics, and bows. This coat was perfect because of the trumpet sleeves! That small touch alone made this coat feel super girly and fun to wear. I also loved that it’s as soft and fuzzy as it looks, making it the quintessential outerwear piece for feminine style. My pink blouse is another great example because it’s sheer and has a pussy bow element that looks really sweet. Sheer tops are the perfect way to showcase a hint of skin without exposing your body to the cold.
Be selective about footwear
Strappy stiletto heels or pumps will reign as classic footwear; however, they’re not exactly practical in the winter. This is where boots come in handy. Despite the frigid temps, I still like to wear dresses and shorts where I can. That’s why I love these over the knee boots. The fact that they’re in purple and not your typical black or brown means that they’ll add that dash of girliness to any outfit. If it gets freezing cold, you can always add sheer tights or leggings. Over-the-knee boot will always channel a bit of a Pretty Woman vibe.
Pick charming accessories
Scarves, hats, and gloves all have the ability to be pretty and charming as along as you pick the right ones. Paris was chilly but not exactly freezing yet so all that I needed was a chic beret. However, don’t be afraid to work with blanket scarfs, cute little beanies, cable knit socks, or sleek leather gloves. All these winter accessories have the power to channel feminine feel.
