I started planning a London and Europe trip late last year and then concluded that I might as well take advantage of fashion week. I had never participated in London Fashion Week before so I was nervous that I wouldn’t get anything at all! To my surprise, I got into some presentations and shows that were full of beautiful pieces! I also got to stay at some really cool places! Let’s get right into Part 1 of my Fall Winer 2018 LFW Recap.
Fall Winter 2018 LFW Recap
Cheval Three Quays
Before jumping into the shows, I want to talk about where I stayed during LFW. I posted some of these photos on Instagram and you guys responded so well. If you were wondering, you can get this view and exact room at Cheval Three Quays which sits in the heart of London – super convenient location and easy access to some of the hottest spots in the city.
I got to stay in the Tower View Room and it was one of my favorite experiences ever. Besides the stunning view, the entire place was so lofty and featured great amenities like a washer and dryer, luxe bathrooms, and everything you need in a kitchen.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who’s visiting London. It’s so photogenic as you can see below and great for bloggers like me who need a beautiful place to create beautiful content!
Sharon Wauchob Presentation
The Sharon Wauchob was a gorgeous combination of structured trench coats and the prettiest gowns. I saw lots of pastels, fringe, and embellishments but also masculine pieces like the vinyl coat pictured below. My favorite collections are the ones that have this kind of mix. I loved all the details in every piece!
Pink Faux Fur Coat | Orange Cropped Sweater | Boyfriend Jean | Fishnet Socks | PVC Boots | X Nihilo Eight Mini Bag in Gold | The Owner Sunglasses
Edeline Lee Presentation
At the Edeline Lee presentation, I spotted lots of red which I was happy to see! It seems like there’s no shortage of red for Fall 2018. There were also lots of gorgeous white pieces with floral prints and darker utility-inspired pieces sprinkled in. The presentation was staged in a garden-like setting which turned out beautiful but enigmatic.
Designer Showroom
After the two presentations, I went to the Designer Showroom which is an exhibit that showcases pieces from smaller designers and various brands. It’s an opportunity for editors and buyers to scout and purchase items for the following season.
This was a special event for me because my friend from fashion design school, Connie Tsai of Con Artist, was showing her collection. I was really happy I got to catch up with Connie and try on her cool, minimalistic trench coats that you can style in multiple ways. My aesthetic is more vibrant and feminine but even a classic piece like this looks and feels very chic. I love how it makes my orange sweater stand out. Well done, Connie!
For Arts Sake
Exploring the Designer Showroom was so much fun and I got to discover a few new accessories brands that I’m drooling over like the sunglasses from For Arts Sake. The tinted frames and seashell details were so cute! I was told they’ll be coming to Nordstrom soon so wait for that!
Matter Matters
These adorable pastel handbags from Matter Matters also caught my eye. This is a Hong Kong based brand that prides itself on bold, graphical accessories that are playful yet high in quality. Their use of color is so clever!
Maxine Shoes
I know have a shoe problem but that’s not stopping me from looking at these lighthearted shoes from Maxine. The pop art design really caught my eye and is something I’d wear in a heart beat. I always love fun fashion pieces and these shoes are it!
Alexandrine Ni
The last of brand I want to cover from the Designer Showroom is Alexandrine Ni. The honeycomb/bee inspired earrings really intrigued me. The details in these pieces of jewelry were so impressive and would make a statement on the ears.
I went for a quick outfit change to prepare for my final show of the day!
Long Checked Coat | White Turtleneck Top | Red Leather Accessories by Creepy Yeha | High-waisted Wide Leg Pants | X Nihilo Eight Mini Bag in Gold | IRO Studded Burgundy Boots
Huishan Zhang Fashion Show
The Huishan Zhang show grabbed my attention and kept it the entire show. First, it was situated in the most beautiful room ever with grand staircases. The collection itself was another world of elegance. The dresses and shoes were so dreamy and ethereal! Every detail from the lace and floral medley to the last bead were impeccable. It’s hard not to love this collection.
