The Fall 2016 runway has seen many olive green and khaki pieces by brands such as Valentino, Dior, Nina Ricci and Vera Wang. The olive green and khaki color trend is not just limited to the safari style but is also featured in feminine and girly looks. Valentino chooses to embellish the color with beading while Nina Ricci incorporates the olive green color in lacy dresses and shimmery skirts.
Olive green is a very easy color to incorporate into your fall palette. I have chosen to go for a more modern day safari look, pairing two shades of the olive green color with my go-to black and gold. I love this zip up dress by L’Agence. I often wear it as a vest, layering it over other clothes or under a trench. Sometimes I wear it as a dress to work. You can show some leg by adjusting the bottom zip upwards or show some cleavage by pulling the zip at the top downwards. It is a form-fitting and extremely versatile piece.
I designed the shorts while I was at Parsons for a Patternmaking/construction class. I love gold buttons so I made the front placket extend past the fly and placed four gold buttons down the princess line.
