You might think the theme for Day 6 of “9 Days of Valentine” is sooooo cheesy, but I truly believe in gifts that bring back childhood joy and memories around Valentine’s Day. It was one of those holidays that I looked forward to as a kid because of the adorable stuffed animals and heart candy. If you’ve gotten out of these types of gifts, this year could be a fun year to bring them back.
9 Days of Valentine – Day 6: Gifts That Bring Back Childhood Joy
When I think of Valentine’s Day, flashes of words printed on heart candy and cute fluffy teddy bears come to mind. Years after passing through the card giving stage and middle school, I’ve gotten away from those cliché gifts and I think many of us do. But every time I walk that section of any store it makes me feel warm and giddy inside. That’s what prompted me to include gifts that bring back childhood joy in my Valentine’s Day theme. Even if looks silly on the outside, it’s the opposite on the inside.
ONE
Stuffed Animals
My favorite stuffed animal growing up was always big fluffy teddy bears. I still have a weak spot for them as you might be able to guess. Whenever you’re at a lost for Valentine’s gifts, this is an easy choice because it brings laughter and all the best childhood feelings.
TWO
Heart-Themed Candy
Whether you’re into chocolates or traditional heart candy, they will always be devoured on Valentine’s Day. I miss getting the ones with messages like “Be Mine” or “Miss Me”. You can always mix them up to make the perfect message.
THREE
Ballons
I also love balloons because they’re so much fun. Besides making great Instagram props, they also woo me over because they’re symbolic of celebrating. Pink and red balloons are my favorite.
If you want to go overboard, pair all three items for the best Valentine’s Day gift this year!
Need some more Valentine’s date ideas? Why not take a roadtrip?
I am obsessed with this teddy bear. It is so huge and cozy.
