Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on us fast! If you still don’t have a clue about how to make it special and different this year, I hope you’ll find the theme in today’s post helpful. You might think I’m old school for saying this but nothing speaks love like a classic love letter. I miss the days of writing just to say I love you. Hence why I’ll be breaking down how you can write a love letter to your significant other.
9 Days of Valentine – Day 4: Write A Love Letter
We’ve become so used to sending quick texts and talking with emojis that many of us have forgotten how to express our feelings in writing. You can always buy a Valentine’s Day card that speaks the words for you, but anyone can do that. I think everyone deserves someone who will write a love letter when they least expect it. In order to express yourself in a meaningful way, here are the things you should think about before writing:
What you’re thankful for
No one says thank you enough these days. You should spend 30 minutes writing a list of all the great things you’re grateful for and that you don’t call out enough. Some examples might be if (s)he pays for dinner every time, (s)he texts you every day just to say “Good morning”, or maybe (s)he washes your dishes. You want to appreciate the littlest things that are usually taken for granted.
What you love most about them
After some time, we also get away from complimenting our significant others. It’s always a nice gesture to let your SO know how good looking they are. It could be their killer smile, hot body, or adorable eyes. Call out their nonphysical features too like their intelligence and handiness.
How they have made your life better
Our lives are made better by the people in it but we don’t express it enough. When you write a love letter, you can always talk about how your life has been amplified by their presence. The quality can come from companionship, having someone to vent to and cuddle with.
