If I had to name one color that always rules fall, it would be burgundy. We’ve seen so much red and hints of yellow, but burgundy outfit trends just don’t go away! I’ll be showing you different ways to wear the color today.
BURGUNDY OUTFIT TRENDS THAT ALWAYS WORK
Burgundy is used interchangeably with oxblood, maroon, wine, bordeaux – colors that are all fitting for fall – and one that I will always get behind. This season’s burgundy outfit trends present pieces in various shapes and sizes from boots to handbags and jackets to bottoms. It gets too easy to fill up the closet with shades of deep reds and purples. With all the iterations that came off the runway, it’s time to recreate some of those looks in real life.
If you need to gather up inspiration for burgundy outfit trends, look no further. Let’s recap some of my favorite color and outfit combinations.
Burgundy + Black
I have a thing for burgundy accessories right now as you can see in my boots and handbag, which I chose to pair with black and gray. For more of a downtown edgy feel, this is the perfect match! Leather on leather always channels a bit of a bad ass vibe, but the burgundy boots is what makes it very wearable for me. You all know that I’m more inclined to wear feminine pieces so I relied heavily on burgundy to tone down the stark black.
Burgundy + Burgundy
Burgundy is a truly versatile color when you’re in the mood to wear a monochromatic outfit because it looks beautiful in all fabrics. It’s so luxurious in velvet and suede yet sensual in satin and silk. It also appears structured and sophisticated in leather, but cozy in soft knits. To master an all burgundy look, you can easily slip on burgundy leather boots with an oxblood mini dress and velvet blazer, plus a maroon handbag – and you’re all good. Not much effort required here.
Burgundy + Pink
Burgundy and cream is a true lady-like palette. You get great juxtaposition of dark and light, and it always just looks bright and airy. Try an off-white outfit with a burgundy duster or a burgundy dress with an oversized wool coat in pink. No matter how you wear burgundy and pink, you can be assured that it always looks feminine, sophisticated, and well put together.
Burgundy + Camel
Burgundy and camel strike up the perfect autumnal hues. Remember that color combinations don’t have to be restricted to your clothes. You could wear an all burgundy look with a camel fedora or camel trousers with burgundy boots. When it comes to footwear, burgundy is as versatile as black, will add a sophisticated pop to fall looks.
Burgundy + Olive
A dark muted green with burgundy doesn’t sound like the most appealing combo, but you’d be surprised. When worn together, these darker rich tones yield a relevant fall-forward look. You can even go as far as mixing camouflage with burgundy for a soldierly but still stylish outfit. Olive outerwear is great for throwing over burgundy outfit trends – think a parka or military jacket.
