Although I live in New York City, and I’m blessed to have an apartment with a beautiful view, a mini staycation is sometimes necessary to appreciate the city all over again. I recently stayed at Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown and it far exceeded my expectations.

You all know how much I love hotels with a view, so that was exactly what drew me to 50 Bowery to begin with. But before I go deeper into that, let’s cover all the wonderful reasons to stay at 50 Bowery during your next NYC excursion.

LOCATION

50 Bowery is a newer boutique hotel located in Chinatown. It’s the perfect place to stay if you prefer to be away from the crowded, touristy areas of the city. I loved it most for ease of access to all the fun activities NYC has to offer. Whether you’re looking to venture outside the hotel for a taste of the authentic, palatable Chinese or Italian restaurants nearby or wanting to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, it’s all right here. You can also access the metro in under 10 minutes, which makes getting around the city super convenient. And if you’re a shopper, you’ll be happy to know that you’re only minutes away from one of the city’s hottest shopping hubs: SoHo.

No matter what you’re in NYC for, you’ll be pleased with the nearby boutiques, tourist attractions, and amazing global fare. It’s an ideal location for explorers.

SERVICE

The service I experienced at 50 Bowery was beyond reproach from the first interaction until I checked out. I only spent two nights here, but the team made it painless and memorable. The room I had was originally located on the 8th floor, and since I’m all about views, I wanted to be up higher. The front desk associates had no qualms about making this happen. I was super pleased with the amicable treatment I received – and with how pleasant and cheerful everyone was.

THE ROOM & THE VIEW

So obviously, I was in love with the beautiful view at 50 Bowery hotel and it’s easy to see why. You can tell from my photos below that you get a clear, unobstructive view of the Empire State Building from the rooms. (Be sure to book a “City View King” room for this glimpse of the city.) And it was not only amazing here, but the rooftop was breathtaking. Even if you’re not staying at 50 Bowery, the rooftop bar is open to the public and worth checking out. Aside from the view, I found the rooms to be cozy yet not overcrowded. I loved that my room was showered with tons of natural light from the lofty windows – it made everything look so bright, crisp, and fresh.

Overall, I was SUPER pleased with 50 Bowery – from the views to the location and the staff, staying in NYC doesn’t get much better than this. Don’t hesitate to book a few nights here if you’re looking for a swanky, friendly hotel to stay at.
